Share Your Village Photos With Us
ATTENTION: UPPER CANADA VILLAGE'S PHOTO CONTEST DEADLINE WAS EXTENDED THIS YEAR TO DECEMBER 31, 2007, IN ORDER THAT YOU COULD SUBMIT CURRENT PHOTOS FROM THIS YEAR'S ALIGHT AT NIGHT FESTIVAL. WINNERS WILL BE POSTED BY MID-JANUARY.
Have you taken an outstanding photograph during your visit to Upper Canada Village that you would like to share with us? Once again, the Village is looking to collect digital images of the Village, as seen through your, our visitor’s eyes, and will be awarding free passes* for the best pictures we receive.
Photographs sent to us should fit into one of the following categories:
Category 1: Pure History
Here we are looking for great action or beauty shots of our costumed staff, animals, buildings and/or scenes from around Upper Canada Village, that don’t have any modern elements in them.
Category 2: Visitors at Upper Canada Village
In this case, we are looking for shots of visitors really enjoying some aspect of Upper Canada Village. Some ideas could be your children playing with our piglets, someone savouring a piece of fresh-baked Village bread, your family singing on board the tow scow, or Grandpa laughing along with the blacksmith as they share stories, to name a few.
Category 3: Other
We thought we’d include a category for any photo that might not fit specifically into one of the categories above, but is an excellent photo from Upper Canada Village all-the-same.
NEW!! Category 4: Alight at Night
Here we are looking for any photo you might have taken from our Alight at Night Festival, challenging because it's night photography!!
Photos will be judged on originality, composition, colour and clarity, and how well they reflect the true spirit of Upper Canada Village.
*The winning entry for each category will receive two Premium Passports to the Past valid for the 2008 season. A Passport allows the recipient to visit the Village as often as they wish during its regular operating season, plus other "benefits". Second place winners will receive a family day pass to return to Upper Canada Village for a day in 2008. Winning photos and some honourable mentions will be posted on the Village web site after December 31, 2007.
