Step Back in Time for a Traditional Fair at Upper Canada Village
Celebrate the rich traditions of the 19th century at Upper Canada Village’s annual 1860s Fall Fair and Quilt Show, taking place on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, 2024. This event brings the charm of a bygone era to life with classic fall fair activities, including horse and cattle shows, a vibrant quilting bee, and public entries for fine art, preserves, handwork, vegetables, and other unique items—all created in line with the guidelines of an 1860s fall fair.
Visitors can also enjoy delicious Village Fair treats, explore the barns to see heritage animals, and experience live entertainment with brass band performances, a magician, and children’s games and races. With something for everyone, it promises to be a full day of history, community, and fun for all ages.
All Fall Fair activities are included with general admission, with tickets priced between $16 and $25, available for purchase online. The fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
About Upper Canada Village
Depicting life in a rural Canadian setting during the year 1866, Upper Canada Village is one of the largest living-history museums in Canada. It was founded in 1961 and features more than 40 historic buildings, many of which were moved to the Village from the “Lost Villages” to preserve them prior to the flooding for the St. Lawrence Seaway development project. Talented historical interpreters bring these buildings to life every day, recreating traditional trades, farming, music, and 19th century social life – creating an immersive guest experience that makes every visit to the Village different from the last.
