Spring Village Walking Tours

Upper Canada Village's more than 40 heritage buildings and winding roads through a pastoral landscape provide a perfect setting for a visual tour through time.  Your group of 15 or more can enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Village during the off-season, as a Village guide leads an informative and scenic walking tour along the Village streets. Reserved groups by reservation only.

Queen Victoria Birthday Celebrations

Join in the celebration as our 1860s Village celebrates Queen Victoria's birthday. Sing "God Save the Queen", hear historical patriotic speeches, see grand military manoeuvres’, lace up for the 1860s athletic games, watch the Village’s “Queen” in action (a hand-pumped fire engine), and enjoy a piece of birthday cake.

Sheep Shearing Days

Drop in at the Main Barn on Loucks Farm to see and learn about sheep shearing as the farm staff shear the Village flock by hand. Visit the McDiarmid Home and Asselstine’s water-powered Woollen Factory to learn more about washing of fleece, carding, spinning, and weaving by hand and using the latest 1860s machinery.

Ghosts of Upper Canada Village Walking Tour

Brought To You By The Haunted Walk We will lead you through the darkened pioneer village, sharing chilling tales about Upper Canada’s darker history and the ghosts that may still linger in some of the buildings on-site today. This unique opportunity to see Upper Canada Village after the lights go out will only be available on select days this summer. ASD Sensory Friendly Sunday Mornings

Visitors on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing difficulties will have a fun, enjoyable learning experience in a comfortable and accepting environment. The sensory accommodations will include schedule and itinerary suggestions, quiet spaces, hands-on opportunities and gentle social interactions with Village staff.

War of 1812 Battle of Crysler’s Farm Re-enactment Weekend

The Battle of Crysler's Farm Re-enactment returns on the weekend of July 16th and 17th. Step into the authentically recreated camps of the British and American army during the War of 1812. Meet period craftspeople, artisans and sutlers who come together to create a large display of living military history. Watch re-enactment battles near the Battle of Crysler’s Farm Memorial Building, next door to Upper Canada Village. This event is hosted by the Friends of the Crysler's Farm Battlefield.

Celebration of Canadian Music

Special all day programming will bring to life a fantastic variety of 19th-century song, dance and instrumental music. Tune in to music performed, consumed and composed in pre-confederation Canada, take part in an old-fashioned singing school and try your hand (and feet!) at a 19th century dance.

Horse Lovers’ Weekend

Back for the 2022 season! Horse lovers will have reason to celebrate at Upper Canada Village's Horse Lovers’ weekend. This festival showcases riding, driving, and working horses with the help of our Village Interpreters and a variety of community partners. New this year, we are thrilled to announce that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride, one of Canada's most recognized icons, will be making a special appearance on Sunday, September 4th, performing intricate formations and drills set to music in the Village fairgrounds!

1860s Fall Fair Weekend & Quilt Show

Participate in the excitement of a wonderfully re-created 1860s Fall Fair, using 1860s fair categories and rules as a guideline. Public entries are welcome! Enter your fine art, preserves, handwork, vegetables and other items; all entries must comply with our 1860s Fall Fair guidelines.
